Welcome to the North American CDIO Meeting and Network Event at Faculty of Engineering, University of Manitoba, March 17-18, 2016
The CDIO Initiative (http://www.cdio.org/) is an educational framework for student learning within the context of Conceiving. Designing. Implementing and Operating (CDIO) in real-world systems and products. CDIO initiative focuses to educate students who are able to master a deep working knowledge of technical fundamentals, lead in the creation and operation of new products and systems and understand the importance and strategic impact of research and technological development on society. Launched in 2000, collaborators throughout the world are adopting this framework of engineering education in their curricular planning and outcome-based assessment.
The 2016 North American CDIO Meeting and Networking Event is being hosted by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba on March 17-18.
Theme
The theme is “CDIO Concepts and Engineering Accreditation”. This highly engaging and multi-faceted meeting will introduce the CDIO framework to participants allowing them to learn from practices elsewhere and how these practices help recognition by accreditation bodies. Included will be presentations on: (i) convergence/mapping CEAB and CDIO attributes, (ii) measuring effectively the competency levels at course level and upon graduation, (iii) industry and regulators views on important attributes and (iv), innovative teaching techniques.
